The draft registration card was filed in Chester County, PA on 9/12/1918. He was living at 225 Franklin Avenue in Phoenixville, PA. He was 19 years old at the time he registered. His occupation was listed as farming on the farm of J. Albert Vail in Anselma, PA. His next of kin was listed as Mrs. John Simpson (his grandmother) who he was living with in Phornixville, PA. He was shown to be of medium hieght and medium build with blue eyes and light brown hair.

Individual Note:   Information from the 1900 US Census:

Thomas was living with his wife, Clara, and duaghter, Effie, in Schuykill Twp, Chester County, PA. His occupation was listed as a heater in an iron mill. Effie was attending school. The census incidated that Clara had one child and that child was still living. The census indicated that they had been married for 17 years.

Information from the 1910 US Census:

Thomas was living with his wife, Clara, and daughter, Effie, in Schuykill Townshiop, Chester County, PA. They were living on a farm that they owned and Thomas was working as a laborer in the iron works. Clara had one child and the child was still living.

Information from the 1920 US Census:

Thomas was living with his wife, Clara, and daughter, Effie, on Charlestown Road in Schuykill Township, Chester County. The home they were living in was owned by them and was free of mortgage. All three could read and write in English. Both Thomas and Clara's parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Information from the 1930 US Census:

Thomas was living with his wife, Clara, his daughter, Effie, and his son-in-law, Harry Fitzgerald, in a home on Pot House Road in Schuykill Twp, Chester County, PA. The house was owned by Thomas and had a value of $1,300. The family owned a radio set. Thomas was working as a laborer in an iron mill.

Charles was residing at 519 High St. in Phoenixville with his 3 children, Harry, John and Alice, and his wife's parents, John and Alice Simpson.John and ALice were born in Ireland and immigrated to the US in 1882.John's naturalization status appeared to be "n9" (naturalized 9 years prior??). Charles' occupation was listed as a wholesale and retail merchant in a feed store (presummable that which his father originally owned) and John's occupation was listed as a salesman in a feed store. Charles owned the house in which they lived and there was a mortgage on the house.

The census shows Levi living in South Coventry Township, Chester County, PA on a general farm that he owns with his wife Catharine. The couple had no children as indicated on the census. The census shows that they wre married for 7 years and that Levi had been married prior to his marriage to Catharine. The census shows that Levi owned the farm outright and there was no mortgage on it. It also showed that Levi was unable to read or write.
