Individual Note:   Notes from 1870 census: Benjamin and Elmyra were living in Phoenixville, Chester County, PA. Benjamin was a superindendent of laborers at a rolling mill. His real estate was valued at $8,000 and his personal property was valued at $2,500. They had no children.

Notes from 1880 census: Benjamin and Elmyra were living in Phoenixville Burough, Chester County, PA on Prospect Street. Benjamin's occupation was listed as a foreman in an iron mill. They had a daughter whose name was listed as Gertrude S. K. Eswing (age 8). She had attended school. The household also included a servant Elmira Stull (age 13) who was also attending school.

The sponsers were her parents Johannes Carl and Catharina. Her DOB reported in the church records differed by 3 days from what was obtained from other sources. I choose to use the DOB as reported in the Church records (3/23/1786) rather than the date obtained from other researchers (3/26/1786).
